Live Resume Roast on LinkedIn: Improving Your Product Management CV

Hey there 👋

So, I hosted my first LinkedIn live session and it was one of the most interesting things I attempted on the platform.

The idea was to host a live resume roast - I pick anonymized resumes and roast them live - highlighting why they would not be shortlisted for Product roles.

At the outset, there were tech issues and I had no idea I had to plug a streaming service before I could go live.

Bad UX by LinkedIn.

Right when the event was suppose to start, I was googling how to go live on LinkedIn. 🙈

So before I could roast anyone else, I was myself roasted by a poor start.

But you know what was the best part about this - The folks stayed and supported me while I was figuring things out - Live. And I could not be more grateful 🙏

And then we started the roast. The idea was to help people see the gaps in others’ resumes so that they can know how their resumes will be seen.

It is easy to find flaws in others but difficult to do so for yourself.

The roast helps clear those blind spots by building on this tendency.

The comment section was buzzing with comments on how this was helpful.

I assure you there is no better high than the high you get when appreciated.
